Back by Popular Demand (haha)   Leave a comment

Ok, so after a lazy few weeks and after many enquiries,  it is time to resurrect Trollips Travels.

So, if you remember, we had written off old Humble and ordered a trailer.  However this was not the end of our woes – Conqueror, true to form, wanted a storage fee of R7,500 for a van they said was worth R5,000.  After hitting the roof, they waived the fee and we sold the van to their competitor.  They also promised to pay import costs for all the parts they sent, all cross borders costs because they sent parts to Zambia instead of Zim but after offsetting this against a service they have decided that’s that.  We have repeatedly asked for a breakdown as there is no way a service could have been USD 700.  Again, another reason to avoid Conqueror as a company.

At least Tuffstuff paid us the damages, so all was well.  At least it was until they cancelled our insurance………Yup – what a nightmare……….  After quite a few sleepless nights Wicus put us on to Kevin (a very nice insurance broker) who had us sorted out with Cross Country in no time.  Thank goodness.  Andrew was having nightmares thinking he would have to move to the UK so he would be able to catch a bus to get around !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whilst all this was going on, we spent a month in Ballito, three weeks in Jhb (where the twins are growing up a storm and getting up to all sorts of mischief) and soon it was time to pick up our new home………..

ps – to all the people we are owe an email, hang tight….we are getting there…….
