Camp Review |
Vumba Botanic Gardens, Vumba, Zimbabwe
General Impression |
Driving up Vumba we were quite hopeful as the area was well maintained, green, nicely cut verges, well tended gardens. Until you came to Vumba Botanic Gardens. Zimparks had really let this go, although some effort was being made to tidy up the park.
The campsite was also showing signs of neglect. Staff were lazy and disinterested. |
Ablutions |
Dreadful. Hadn’t been swept in weeks, were filthy with no lights and water only eventually after being pumped. Staff ignored requests to put the donkey on, even although it was cold and raining. |
Electricity |
No. Boxes were there but all connections had been removed. |
Water |
Only if pumped and it wasn’t drinkable |
Facilities |
None |

Would we re-visit? |
We would visit the Vumba Area but would only stay at the Botanic Gardens if huge improvements had been made. |
